Miss Xiao Ping started Nissi as a small gift shop selling homemade items.
She now has three stores in Xiamen, Quanzhou and Fuzhou selling a broad
range of Christian books, materials and gifts. The Nissi
Website offers most of their items online, though until they finish
the website, you can order books only from the Chinese
Nissi Website. (Nissi also always has all of
my books in stock, signed, with the little "magic cartoon").

The diversity of Christian books
at Nissi is quite amazing--especially considering they were all published
in China! Who'd have thought State-owned publishers in Beijing would put
out biographies
of
missionaries (like James Hudson Taylor's "To China with Love,")
or books about Christian perspectives on evolution ("Darwin's Black
Box" for example)? Nissi also has dozens of books about business,
leadership and success using Biblical principles (again, published in
China!), as well as books on family, marriage, adolescence, or theology,
or popular works like "Purpose Driven Life", or fiction like
the "Left Behind Series" or ... you name it, Nissi has it.
NISSI
GIFTS Nissi has a large gift section, with wall hanging, plaques,
carvings, paintings, scrolls, T-shirts, specialty ties, magnets, ... you
need to visit the store or website to get an idea of all she has.
Many of Nissi's gift items are crafted by mainland Christians--as much
"heart made" as "handmade" (this business helps provide
much needed jobs).
Nissi’s Bible-related gifts include:
Home decorations, with an emphasis on items for the reading
room or living room (plaques, wall hangings, etc.).
Functional items: penholders, clocks, etc
Cards: Bible verse cards, greeting cards, holidays cards
etc。
Nissi can supply OEM items. If you or your church are interested, please
contact Nissi for gifts and services.
READING
AREA Nissi's
"free reading”are in the back (the sign says books are "UNsell"!)
is great for relaxing, reading, or chatting (Xiao Ping says its a "small
retreat" for weary souls).
EXPANSION In
November, 2005, Nissi opened a branch in Fúzhou near Fujian Normal University.,
and another branch in Quanzhou not long afterwards.
ACTIVE Nissi is active in attending university book exhibitions
and sharing with students. And in July, 2005, Nissi was the only Christian
store to have an exhibit at the first Cross-Straits Book Exhibition [held
July 29-31, 2005, this fair had over 50,000 books from Taiwan and 150,000
from the mainland, and signaled the end of former
restrictions
against selling Taiwan-produced books on the Mainland].
INTERNATIONAL Nissi's customers now come
from many countries, including Singapore, Malaysia, the U.S.A., Germany,
Denmark, etc. Visit Nissi's Website, or better yet--visit one of their
three stores.
