Best Home on the Planet People laugh when I claim I’ve the best home on earth but I can prove it!

Best Home China’s fascinating past and her unique progress today make her one of the most fascinating countries on the planet. And China’s most interesting province for overseas Chinese and foreigners is Fujian, start of the ancient Maritime Silk Route—China’s gateway and a crossroads of commerce and culture that rivaled Alexandria in Egypt. Fujian’s most beautiful city (indeed, China’s most beautiful) is the “Garden Island” of Xiamen,(formerly Amoy). Xiamen’s most delightful location is Xiamen University (XMU), the most beautiful campus in China. XMU’s most picturesque area is the Wu Lao (Five Old Men) Mountains. And perched upon Wu Lao Shan, overlooking historic Xiamen Bay, is our family’s home (in spite of the fearful Amoy Vampires).

Best Job I’ve not only have the best home on the planet but also the best job. Over the past two decades China’s amazing development has bettered the lives of many of 1/5 of the planet’s population. As teachers and students, we not only witness but also participate, in a small way, in China's changes. And as China’s only key university in a special economic zone, XMU has helped pioneer the modern education that made China’s success possible. XMU’s Economics College leads the nation, and our MBA Center awarded China’s first MBA degrees.
Best Family One of the most difficult things about moving to Xiamen was leaving behind family and friends, but our XMU colleagues, students, and neighbors have made us feel at home from day one, and Bill’s sons grew up in Xiamen with countless Chinese grandmas, grandpas, aunts and uncles. 地球上最舒适的家 《魅力厦门大学》

当我说到我拥有地球上最舒适的家时，人们都笑了；但我可以证明这是真的。

最好的工作 我不但有地球上最舒适的家，还有最好的工作。在过去二十年中，中国经济突飞猛进，改善了地球上五分之一人口的生活。作为一名厦大教师，我有幸目睹并参与实践了这个伟大的经济奇迹。作为中国经济特区里唯一一所全国重点大学，厦大引领中国的现代教育，为中国的经济建设输送各种人才。厦大经济学院在全国排在前列，MBA中心颁发了中国的第一个MBA学位。

最好的家庭 移民到中国生活让我们最苦恼的事就是要离开家人和朋友。但是来到中国以后，我们得到了厦大同事，学生和邻居的热心关怀和帮助，丝毫没有让我们觉得这里很陌生，就像回到自己家一样。我们的孩子在厦门成长，他们有无数个爷爷、奶奶、叔叔和阿姨。我们有一个大家庭，这个大家庭与中国的其它家庭不同，更与世界上的所有家庭都不同。以下列出的是厦大优与全国其它学校的地方：
